One workflow, two controls

Move and Replace solve different animation jobs

Both modes use the same two inputs, but they answer different creative needs. Start with the result you want, then choose the mode.

Wan Animate Move

Use the driving video as a motion reference for the character in your image. It works well for dance clips, gestures, talking-head movement, and stylized character performances.

Wan Animate Replace

Use the image as the new character reference inside the driving video. Choose it when the source timing and scene work, but the on-screen person needs to change.

Image-to-animation workflow

Create with Wan 2.7 Image, animate with Wan 2.2

Build a clean, full-body character reference in Wan 2.7 Image first. Then bring that image here with a driving video to create a repeatable character-animation workflow without setting up a local ComfyUI graph.

How to make a Wan character animation

01

Upload a driving video

Choose a clear MP4 up to 30 seconds and 10MB. Keep the performer visible and avoid abrupt cuts for more consistent motion.

02

Add a character image

Use a sharp PNG, JPG, or WebP with a readable face, body shape, and outfit. Match the source framing when possible.

03

Choose mode and resolution

Select Move or Replace, review the verified duration and credit quote, then render at 480p, 580p, or 720p.
